The career I chose is a commercial architect. A commercial architect is an architect that designs and implements structures and buildings for both commercial and non-residential use (like for hotels or bridges). Some responsibilities needed for this career may include the ability to create scaled drawings, communicate well with clients, and be able to facilitate a good execution of the design. In addition to this, to be able to have a career in this type of architecture, at least a bachelor's degree in architecture is required. After getting the necessary education it's crucial to have specific skills like creativity, design proficiency, project management, and critical thinking as they'll be used on a daily basis. For looking to pursue this career the best majors/programs to prepare you is a major in architecture and possibly engineering. These are both majors that relate directly to commercial architecture and teach you skills that will appear frequently in the job. Some of the best schools that offer an exceptional program from architecture include Rice University, Cornell University, and University of California Berkeley. All said to have beautiful programs for architecture that foster design and learning.
