Progress Post Project #7

Below are photos of my progress with project # 7. I began my process of creating the piece by sketching out the composition lightly onto the paper to set up the base of my drawing. Then I began shading. I decided to start with the harder values within the prayer. This section was a lot more satisfying than I had previously expected it to be. After completing the first set of beads I blocked out a dark section on the top of the Quran to establish a good comparison for the remaining values. With this drawn out I was able to begin and finish the next set of beads which were much darker than the first. Then I proceeded to work on finishing the rest of the first quran. Overall, I am very satisfied with my current progress because I can really see my reference picture come through in my drawing. I am excited to see how I progress with the project overall!
