Progress Post Project #5

Below are photos of my progress with project # 5. I began my process of creating the piece by sketching out the composition lightly onto the paper to set up the base of my drawing. Then I immediately began shading the first figure. I worked my way up the paper, finishing one figure completely before moving on to the next. After I felt satisfied with the details of the figures, I began working on the prayer mats. These were a quick section to finish. Finally after ensuring I had successfully captured the detail and values of the figures with graphite, I traced over top of the light sketch of my word with a black brush marker. While I do believe I did everything I could to create a pleasing drawing, overall this piece isn't my favorite of the works I made. However, I am happy to have finished the drawing and that I was able to achieve my goals of composition and multiple figures.
